At Robinson Race Cars, we have a long history of creating bespoke, street legal vehicles, from Plymouth Prowlers with modern V8 engines and transaxles to traditional style Ford Popular street rods. We are able to adapt modern technology and integrate it into older body styles, modernise engine, drivetrain and suspension technology and even construct tubular spaceframes for the ultimate freedom in design, with your chosen ‘silhouette’ body style. It was great to see Pete Moore’s 1934 Ford 3 window coupe on the Aurora Bearings stand @autosport_international show. We built a custom chassis using stock style frame rails, but with mounts for Vauxhall/Holden VXR8 rear differential, custom stainless steel wishbones front and rear and the heart of the car, a 6.0l LS2 motor. @trimshop did a great job on the bespoke leather interior and FH Ellis handled the all steel bodywork. #robinsonracecars

Check out Steve Hale’s beautiful ‘55 Chevy we had in a while ago for an axle conversion. On this particular car we used a Ford 8.8 axle, which is a great base due to its high strength and disc brakes as OEM equipment. We narrowed the axle and centred the pinion, fabricated bracketry to fit the car and added ‘Big Ford’ housing ends with integral seals to eliminate the C clip retention system. Coupled with @racestrange half shafts, Steve now has a reliable package for cruising the streets.
